Join us for our Online Lightroom Classic workshop. Ever since COVID-19 reared its ugly head, it has been prudent, and sometimes mandatory, to stay at home to ensure everyone’s safety. Many photographers now have time to catch up and develop their images or review and update the editing of same. Even during less challenging times, there are those who cannot attend one of our regular Lightroom workshops and have requested that we do one online.

With our Online Lightroom Classic workshop, you will get remote “hands-on” help learning the ins and outs of this amazing program, from A to Z. This workshop will be similar to our on-location ones in terms of content and including workshop homework and assignments, so that you can get the most out of the workshop, working on your own images, and discussions, but we will be doing it on the Zoom platform that we have used successfully for our Online Photo Workshops.

Many people want to get up to speed more quickly than they might be able to do on their own. There are those who are already familiar with Lightroom but know that they are not taking full advantage of all it has to offer. Some have switched from other programs because of the ever-increasing sophistication of this program. Whatever your reason for using Lightroom, it always helps to get a leg up, to learn the ins and outs of the digital asset management — also known as “DAM” — aspects of this program, as well as to discover different ways to accomplish various imaging tasks.

Not only is Lightroom an incredibly intuitive imaging program once you get a jump start, it is also a robust DAM tool.

From organizational techniques that will allow you to quickly and efficiently create a sensible, organized folder structure that works for you, to being able to rename and move folders and files later (always from within Lightroom), to finding your favorite photographs, to using collections and keyword lists, to the various aspects of post-processing, we will bring you up to speed in Lightroom Classic.

The goal is to help you streamline your workflow so that you can spend more time photographing and less time at the computer. And, you will learn with hands-on experience processing your own images. After all, we are all individuals with different aesthetics.

Equipment Recommended:

You will need your camera, an assortment of lenses depending upon your style of shooting, a working knowledge of the basics of your camera (please "play" with your camera before coming), your camera manual, a proper tripod and ball head - see our Tripods & Ball Heads blog, a rested brain, and a willingness to have fun, take chances, "make mistakes" (another blog) that may turn out to be happy successes, and laugh a lot! All that for the assignments and initial homework you will need to do. These are so that you can work on your own images from beginning to end. We ask that people do their homework ahead of time out of respect to their fellow participants

You will also need to bring your laptop and other items listed at https://www.bcphotoadventures.com/online-lightroom/ (scroll down to Computer Equipment and Add-ons).
