If you love nature and landscape photography, then you cannot miss this workshop!

For this 10 day adventure we’ll meet at Hard Rock Cafe, Las Vegas Nevada on September 9th 2019 and head to Page, Arizona for the first part of the workshop.

Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona is one of those places that truly are more emotionally impactful in person than you could ever think possible if you have only seen it in photos. If you’re in search of an incredible natural vista, then Horseshoe Bend is definitely worth a visit. The name was inspired by its unusual shape, a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located four miles southwest of Page, AZ, within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

We will photograph Horshoe Bend in the afternoon and also, at sunrise. Thereafter, we will head for some breathtaking photos at Antelope Canyon.

Even if you didn’t realize it at the time, chances are you’ve seen a photo of Upper Antelope Canyon. The unforgettable moment in Antelope Canyon is when you see sunbeams shine in through the slot canyon for the first time. This occurs between 11am and 1pm in the spring and summer months.

We will photograph Antelope Canyon with enough time to patiently capture photos in key spots of the slot canyons.

The next day, we are heading to Zion National Park, where we will take amazing photos during the day and practice some astrophotography at night.

Canyon Junction bridge is always a good place to start. This is probably the most typical view in Zion. It’s easy to get to and has one of the best views of the Watchmen. It’s usually crowded but every time I’ve been there it hasn’t been overwhelming.

The day after we will head out for a challenging but breathtaking hike all the way to the top of Angel’s Landing. This is not for the faint of heart or people afraid of heights. There are many switch backs in the beginning of the trail, and then you come to the part with the chains to hold on to, but the views from the top are unbelievable.

On the fourth day we will hike the narrows. While the park offers sweeping vistas, the hikes that go deep into the canyon are what really can offer unique perspectives. There are probably hundreds of slot canyons that carve deep into the canyon floor and where the Virgin River flows, but one stands out among the rest.

The Narrows is in a class of its own, and if our goal is to photograph Zion’s most beautiful places, this place has to be on our list!

The next day we will head to Arches National Park where we will photograph unbelievable rock formations such as Courthouse Towers, Balanced Rock, North & South Windows, Turret Arch, and Double Arch, as well as many rock towers, an of course, Delicate Arch and Winter Camp Wash Amphitheater. We will also hike to Tower Arch.

Of course, we cannot leave the area without waking up very early in order to capture Mesa Arch at sunrise. The arch creates a perfect frame for the spectacular view of the mesa below while the sun rises over the La Sal mountain range. If he light is right you can virtually guarantee an awesome shot.

After that, we will go back to Las Vegas.

Bonus: After the workshop I will likely go hiking and camping at COYOTE GULCH, located in the vast Grand Staircase-Escalante desert and/or REFLECTION CANYON, located at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Those who wish, can join me at no additional cost!
