The Carriage House Photography Workshops will continue its series of fine art nude photography events in New Orleans.

Our “Destination Workshops” feature the local culture, locations, music and food! Challenge yourself to add diversity to your photography portfolio, or just come to “The Big Easy” and have fun…

Our three day Storyville workshop is intended for those who are interested in a photographic journey from the past and the history of Storyville and the “Blue Books” of bordellos and courtesans of 100 years, to present day burlesque in New Orleans.

We will have Miss Angie Z, Juno and Zoe West, a trio of wonderful, talented burlesque dancers as the models for this workshop.

During the workshop we will cover the following topics:

A. The Courtesan – Following the famous “Blue Books” of Storyville and with vintage lingerie, the models will pose for a session as role of a Storyville courtesan for these are nude portraits inspired by E.J. Belloq

B. Burlesque – The burlesque/stripper has a long history in New Orleans. In this set our models will give a live burlesque performance for our photographers, at the Allways Lounge and Cabaret, the venue for many burlesque events in New Orleans!

C. Storyville 2023 – Using the beautiful setting of an historic New Orleans mansion in The Garden District, we will have shoots at this property with each of the three models.

Saturday Jan. 28st

Blue Book Portraits w. 3 Models (Photo Session #1)

Burlesque Show at Allways Lounge (Photo Session #2)

Dinner w. Presentation: From Storyville to Surrealism and the Art Nude Photography

Sunday Jan. 29nd

Sessions w. Models an Historic Air Bnb (Photo Session #3, 4 and 5).

Session with 3 Models – Boudoir Parlor (Photo Session #6 )

Dinner (Workshop Review / Photo Critique)

Lighting – We will be using both natural light, as well as have lighting equipment available that will give you the ability to shoot with models on location at Allways Lounge and at the Historic Mansion.

Workshop Summary:

Photographers will have the opportunity to shoot 6 scenes over 2 days, with individual and group shoots. The workshop is limited to 6 photographers, so there will be plenty of opportunity to shoot with the dancer/models.

By the end of the workshop you will have a unique experience working with burlesque dancers and models and a great set of images to add to your portfolio!

Dinners are included on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night with good ole Nawlins food!

Workshop participants are responsible for transportation, lodging and meals (other than dinners)

Workshop Cost: $1,600 – Includes Model Releases, and use of Lighting Equipment and three Dinners!

DEPOSIT OF $100 REQUIRED – Pls make $100 payment to RSVP, the Payment Balances of $500 are due Jan. 17, 10 days prior to the workshop), and $1,000 Jan. 27th (initiation of the workshop).

Photographer Limit: Workshop will be limited to 6 photographers.

Cancellation/No Show Policy: Payment of the $100 Deposit is to hold your space. If you are a no show, you will be billed for the balance of the workshop fee. We must establish policy because of our financial obligations to our models and studio expenses.
